The following works are from my high school career, specifically my junior and senior year. I was preparing for the AP 2D design exam those final years, creating my own concentration and breadth of work. My concentration focused on the natural world, how it is being affected by humans, and particularly the negative effects.
In high school I was a part of Art Club, as well as National Art Honors Society. In my senior year I was awarded, the Rising Star Secondary Recognition Program award from NAHS, for active members, interested in art education as a career. I was one of 3 students in the nation to receive this award at the National Art Education Association National Convention in 2017. I graduated from Marriotts Ridge High School in 2017.
Backyard | An acrylic still life of one of my favorite spots. I removed the urban background to render what this spot would have looked like before development. Click to purchase a print of this piece in my shop!

Lost in Space | An oil pastel self portrait from Junior year.

Peeb & Pancake | This is a multicolor linoleum print of a plate of pancakes on a wooden table. I have very fond memories of my grandmother (Peeb) cooking pancakes for me on saturday morning, when we would visit her. We called her house the Peeb and Pancake.
As Fine as Dandelion Wine | This is a linoleum print of dandelions- my favorite flower. Dandelions are considered weeds by most, and are typically undesired plants in landscaping. However, the removal of them is actual damaging, as danelions are one of the first flowers that come up in the spring, thus are the first "food" for the bees! Men Will Never Rest Until They're Spoiled the Earth | A watercolor painting based on a scene from my favorite movie Watership Down, which is based on the book of the same title by Richard Adams. The title of this piece is a direct quote from the movie and book.

A Sense of Pride | This oil pastel piece was my final self portrait from high school. It represents my pride in being apart of the LGBTQ+ community.

Be(e) Kind | This is a mixed media piece, that includes oil pastel and collage. The image depicts a single bee slowly dying on someone's hand, and in the background is several images of cityscapes and other urban areas. This is discussing the removal of bee's habitats by hunmans.

Favorite Things | A copic marker and liner sketch of 3 of my favorite items that were carried/worn everywhere.
